Tartine Employee CSA Fund

4/9/20 Many thanks to our donors who have generously given so far! The cost of the CSA boxes + added groceries vary each week. To show our donors how the funds are being used, here is a breakdown by week: 1st week: 110 boxes from Front Porch Farm + additional groceries at $25.69 each, total $2,826. 2nd week: 120 boxes including donated cheese from Cowgirl Creamery and donated wine from Reeve $20.00 each = $2,400.

Since opening our doors in San Francisco in 2002 we have created countless jobs for our local community, donated to support local schools, fundraisers, and shelters, and empowered employees to start their own businesses. We are proud to have served the San Francisco, and now Los Angeles, communities that we've become a part of. 

We need your help on behalf of our employees!
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have had to lay off a large percentage of staff and reduce hours of the small crew we can employ. Fortunately, we've been able to continue to sell food to take away, as well as use our facilities to package meals for doctors, nurses, and administrative staff at local hospitals. These small but meaningful ways of keeping our doors open help to maintain the employment of remaining staff, and hopefully ensure that we do not have to institute further layoffs or permanently close our doors. 

WIN-WIN
Funds raised will be used to purchase a rotating grocery selection + necessities such as produce, dairy, eggs, meat, toilet paper, beans, rice, and other items. They'll be boxed up and ready to go once a week, with a different combination of goods each time. 
Our aim is two-fold:
We want to assist our growers, ranchers, dairy producers and food makers and help them stay in business; by combining your donation with our ability to purchase in quantity, we are able to stretch those funds further, offer nutritious food and supplies to employees, and help vendors keep going. 
*All staff, whether currently working or laid off, are eligible to pick up weekly boxes*
