Tarsal coalition is $$$, but chronic pain sucks

So, you may wonder how we got here. My name is Victoria and I have been in severe chronic pain for over 5 years, and on April 24th 2023 finally got approved for surgery!!!

Some of you might know me and my story or have seen me in this boot for a while.

If not here is a recap: In 2018 I dropped a 175lb half-barrel keg on my foot, severely injuring my ankle. For 5 years I have been trying and trying to figure out what happened and why I am still in chronic pain with low mobility. I have spent thousands of dollars on CT scans, Ultra Sounds, and X-rays to be told nothing was wrong, it's just arthritis, and I just need to lose weight. This tore down my hope and self-confidence. Thanks to the support from my friends and employers, I got the courage to try one more time.

I now have my surgery coming up, Right now that is all I know and I am waiting to hear from Mission Hospitals surgery consultation for all the finer details and will update this as I know. I have been diagnosed with Tarsal coalition , and only 1% to 6% of the population have this diagnosis. Severe cases of tarsal coalition are treated with joint fusion. During this procedure, my bones are held in place with screws, staples or plates to limit movement and place my bones in a more favorable position to regain movement and finally be without the daily chronic pain.

This is where I ask for help. I am already very aware that this surgery and recovery time, plus PT will be far out of my budget. For the surgery and recovery process, the current estimate is around $10,000.

No donation is too small, and just a share is more than enough. I just can't believe that I am finally being heard and that my pain is being seen.
