Ta'Ron Needs Help to Bring His Daughter Home

Hello, my name is Ta'Ron from the Bahamas, and I was recently a victim of domestic violence.

I traveled to Texas in December 2024 to spend some time with my baby daughter and her mother, who I was in a relationship with up until the assault. I am not here to intentionally speak down on the mother of my child, but I have to tell my story. She has a lot of childhood trauma and has developed anger issues over it. Whenever she is upset, those in her immediate vicinity suffer for it. It doesn't even have to be connected to them, just wrong place, wrong time.

My baby's mother had a previous argument with her mother earlier that day, and it set her in a bad mood for the remainder of that day. When we got home after seeing her mother, she got into one of her anger fits, and in doing so, hot boiling water was thrown at me and landed on my back. My daughter was in close vicinity, so she got some on her too, which resulted in my baby's mother being arrested and charged with aggravated assault and child endangerment. When the situation occurred, I was unable to take my daughter because I was at the hospital being treated for my injuries, and she was arrested, so the police gave my daughter to the grandmother (on the mother's side), and now she won't return her.

To be honest, she knows exactly how her daughter is and has still enabled her daughter for years, which is part of the reason she is like this, and now she is taking her side. Texas laws are weird to where the police and CPS have told me they cannot forcibly remove my daughter and return her to me even though there is NO custody order.

It's been a month now, and I haven't seen my daughter. The grandmother has even tried to use my daughter to get me to drop the charges and protective order that is against her daughter in order for me to see her again.

I feel like I am being taken advantage of because I am a foreigner here, and I just want my daughter back and away from that environment because I do not want her to take on those habits.

I was advised by the law to go through the court system to get her back, but it costs money that I don't have, so I am begging anyone, if you see this, please help. I would greatly appreciate it.
