Anyone who knows the Hamrouni family knows they have endured what feels like an overwhelming amount of hardship and loss—
Specifically their brother Tarik who was just diagnosed with metastatic testicular cancer.
This past fall, their father suffered two severe strokes that were unfortunately dismissed by healthcare providers. His condition continued to deteriorate, eventually leading to sepsis and a hospital stay lasting over a month. Due to delays in treatment and limited access to immediate rehabilitation, he is now living with lasting deficits, requires daily support for basic activities, and must undergo dialysis three times a week indefinitely.
Since then, Layla, Tarik, and Alissa have stepped in as his full-time caregivers—an emotional and physical responsibility that has also brought significant financial strain.
Then, on March 26, their lives were turned upside down once again.
Tarik was sent to the emergency department by his family doctor, not expecting anything serious. Within just four hours, an ultrasound revealed testicular cancer. Further imaging confirmed that the cancer has already spread.
He is scheduled for surgery this Tuesday to remove his testicle, but this is only the beginning. Tarik now faces an uncertain road ahead, involving chemotherapy, radiation, and possibly additional surgeries.
Many know Tarik as a passionate and dedicated DJ—DJ HAMRO—who has worked hard to build his name and career. But with this diagnosis, he has had to cancel all upcoming shows and tours indefinitely. As someone who is self-employed, this means a sudden and complete loss of income at a time when his focus must be entirely on treatment and recovery. Tarik lives with his girlfriend, Didi, who has been a constant and loving support through this devastating time. Despite her dedication to caring for him, she has limited time off work, and the weight of their living expenses has now fallen heavily on her.
This journey is made even more heartbreaking by the family’s past. Thirteen years ago, they lost their mother to breast cancer. Tarik was only 13 years old at the time. Now, he is facing his own battle—and he needs the strength and support of his community more than ever.
We are asking for your help to support Tarik and the Hamrouni family during this incredibly difficult time. Donations will go toward medical-related expenses, daily living costs, and easing the financial burden so they can focus on healing and being together.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this page would mean the world.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and prayers
