GALWAD BRYS
Rydym yn derbyn adroddiadau uniongyrchol bod gweithwyr iechyd a gofal Cymru dal heb dderbyn offer (PPE) digonol er mwyn gofalu ar ôl cleifion sydd wedi testio yn bositif neu yn dangos symptomau o COVID-19. Un enghraifft clir o offer angenrheidiol sydd angen ydy masgau safonol.
Mae'r sefyllfa yn rhoi y gweithwyr mewn peryg, yn ogystal â'u teuluoedd â'u cymunedau.
Un o'r negeseuon fwyaf torcalonnus, gan weithwraig ifanc, yn dweud:
"Plis rhowch PPE hanfodol i ni!! Mae staff dan straen ac yn crïo yn eu gwaith, dydyn nhw ddim am ddal y firws ac o bosib marw o ganlyniad i'w hymdrechion i helpu eraill. Mae hyn hefyd yn peryglu ein teuluoedd. Byddwn yn brwydro yn erbyn y firws hwn ac yn sefyll gyda'n gilydd ond rydym yn haeddu offer amddiffyn PPE iawn nid rhyw fasgiau llawfeddygol heb fawr o amddiffyniad!!"
Mae’r argyfwng yn dwysau bob dydd ac felly ni allwn aros nes bod Llywodraeth Cymru, nac unrhyw awdurdod arall, yn datrys y broblem hon yn llwyr - bydd rhaid i ni weithredu er mwyn gwarchod gweithwyr GIG Cymru a'r sector gofal.
Felly rydym yn lansio'r alwad ariannu torfol hon.
Rydym yn grŵp o bobl o amrywiaeth o gefndiroedd, gyda chysylltiadau personol agos i weithwyr iechyd a gofal yng Nghymru.
Rydym angen codi arian ar frys i sicrhau cyflenwad o offer gwarchodol i Gymru. Bydd hyn yn digwydd trwy bartneriaethau gydag arbenigwyr o gwmpas y gwledydd Prydain, sydd yn dod â phrofiad mewn archebion am offer gwarchodol o safon proffesiynol.
Mae'r sefyllfa anarferol iawn sydd ohoni yn gofyn am atebion brys. Mae Tarian Cymru yn gwario pob rhodd ar PPE, a chostau pacio a cludo cysylltiedig ar gyfer y PPE.
Mae'r cyflenwyr PPE yn arbenigwyr amrywiol sydd wedi'u lleoli yng Nghymru, Lloegr, China a gwledydd eraill i'w hychwanegu.
Mae'r PPE yn cael ei ddanfon i ganolfan ddosbarthu Tarian Cymru yn Sir Benfro. Mae'n cael ei ddosbarthu mewn fan a char i bob rhan o Gymru gan yrwyr gwirfoddol. PPE for Wales' health and care workers: community response
URGENT CALL FOR ACTION
We are receiving direct reports that health and care workers in Wales are still not receiving the PPE, Personal Protective Equipment, that they need to care for patients - including patients who have been infected with, or shown symptoms of, COVID-19. One clear example of essential equipment still needed is quality masks.
This situation puts workers, their families, and communities at risk.
One of the more heartbreaking messages, by a young worker, says:
"Please provide us with essential PPE!! Staff are stressed and crying in work, they don't want to catch the virus and possibly die as a result of their efforts to help others. This also puts our families at risk. We will fight this virus and stand together but we deserve the protection of proper PPE not surgical masks which offer little protection!!"
As the crisis worsens we cannot wait for Welsh Government, nor any other authority, to address completely this problem, and must act for the protection of these workers in NHS Wales and the care sector.
Therefore we are launching this crowdfunding call.
We are a group of people from a variety of backgrounds, with close personal links to Wales' health and care workers.
We need to raise money urgently to secure a supply of protective equipment from global suppliers to Wales. This will be achieved through partnerships with specialists around the nations of Britain, who bring experience in orders for PPE of a professional standard.
This highly unusual situation requires rapid solutions which work. Collecting money specifically for PPE for NHS Wales hospitals and other sites, and the care sector, will side-step any bureaucracy and ensure that the equipment reaches the workers who are working 24/7 to care for your friends, relatives, and community.

Detailed plan for using donations and spending funds
Tarian Cymru spends all donations on PPE, and associated packing and shipping costs for the PPE.
The PPE suppliers are various specialists located in England, Wales, China, and other countries to be added.
The PPE is delivered to Tarian Cymru's distribution centre in Pembrokeshire. It is distributed by van and car to all areas of Wales by volunteer drivers. It is then given free of charge to NHS Wales health workers and care workers. These workers are based at hospitals, care homes, surgeries, hospices, and other NHS Wales sites. No other category of worker or person may obtain the PPE from Tarian Cymru. PPE is never sold, in every case it is only donated directly to a named worker responsible for a department or ward of an organisation.

In every case, before an order is made, we make a thorough assessment of the reputation of the supplier, the quality of the PPE stock, and its fitness and appropriateness for use by health and care workers. This is done in close consultation with subject specialists from the organisation NHS Hero Support, and other advisors. Order quantities are derived from projections of data submitted by the workers via the online form on https://tarian.wales and direct communication with those workers. These data are accurate reports of real need among the workers (who are themselves specialists in their respective fields).
Our website disclaimer states clearly with the online form that "neither Tarian Cymru nor its partners nor suppliers can be held responsible for the choices of equipment or other decisions that you make". While we make every effort to ensure that equipment is suitable and of a high standard, the campaign is not in a position to take responsibility for its actual use.
The bulk of the donations are made on the GoFundMe system. In some cases fundraising projects transfer donations via BACS bank transfer or Paypal. These are logged on the GoFundMe system as 'offline' donations. (One example is Carwyn Ellis who has raised money with his Bandcamp sales.)
All money is withdrawn by Alice Jeffs of Cardiff, the treasurer of the campaign, into a Monzo bank account dedicated to Tarian Cymru work only. Copies of financial records are available on request. Alice is a qualified doctor with numerous professional links to health workers and health organisations in Wales and the countries of the UK.
We are in the process of finalising an organisational constitution, and appointing trustees for Tarian Cymru - in accordance with best practice.
All Tarian Cymru organisers work on an unpaid voluntary basis.
