My name is Omar . I am a husband, a father, a Muslim preacher, and a speaker specializing in interfaith dialogue and comparative religion.

On 18 May 2025, a well-known British newspaper (The Daily Mail) published a defamatory article filled with falsehoods and distortions, falsely portraying me as a violent extremist.

The article was based on misrepresented quotes, fabricated accusations, and a deliberate distortion of a scholarly religious discussion I had presented publicly.

Despite clearly warning the journalist—both verbally and in writing—not to publish my name or photo due to serious concerns for my safety, my objections were ignored and the article was published.

As a result:

• I have been suspended from my job without pay

• I have faced public defamation campaigns and threats

• My name has been smeared internationally

• My family and I are under severe psychological and financial pressure

All of these accusations are entirely false. I have never incited violence or issued any threats. What I stated was a citation of historical scholarly positions within an academic context, with clear disclaimers that such rulings are not for individuals to enforce.

Nonetheless, I have become the target of a hateful media campaign that now threatens my life, my career, and the wellbeing of my family.

I have hired a solicitor specializing in defamation and reputation protection. However, legal action comes at a high cost, with initial fees starting at £5,000, and total expenses expected to exceed £10,000 as the case progresses.
