TARDEADA FOLKLORICA (Online Fundraising)
"Tardeada Folklórica" is Grupo Folklórico Quetzalén's most important fundraising campaign. The funds raised during this campaign help us carry out our spring community recital, "Así Danzan Los Niños", and enable us to continue offering our programs and classes for free or at low cost.
TARDEADA FOLKLORICA (Family Event)
In addition to our online fundraising campaign, we are organizing a family event on Sunday, October 8th, from 2 pm to 6 pm at El Verano Elementary School, 18606 Riverside Drive, Sonoma, CA 95476. During this fundraising event, we will sell traditional Mexican food, desserts, sweets, and non-alcoholic drinks, and we'll have a pop-up market, family activities, live entertainment, and more surprises.
ABOUT US
Grupo Folklórico Quetzalén of Sonoma Valley was founded in May 2008. Under the direction of Victor Ferrer, Quetzalén started as a senior project at Sonoma Valley High School and later became the community's first Mexican folk ensemble. Our mission is to educate, preserve, and promote the splendor of Mexico's traditional dances, music, and costumes. We are committed to conducting outreach programs for the youth in our community to instill pride in their cultural heritage.
OUR WORK
We offer culturally and academically enriching programs, focusing on after-school classes, workshops, and performances for local schools, educational programs, and non-profit organizations throughout the year. Our folklórico dance program has been offered for over 15 years to the entire Sonoma Valley community, primarily to Sonoma Valley Unified School District students.
