My sister, Tara Potts, passed away on the fourth, and I am asking for help with her funeral, burial, and afterlife management expenses.
Tara had been through so much for so many years. In 2013, when she was 19, she fell off a small bridge in our hometown. After that, doctors discovered a rare blood disorder that no one knew about. She suffered a heat stroke and another stroke in her brain, which left her paralyzed on the right side of her body along with many other physical and mental struggles. Since then, she had been hospitalized many times over the last 13 years.
This last hospitalization has been devastating. Tara went into multiple organ failure, and each time it seemed like she might be able to come home, she would code again. The last time, she had a heart attack, and the ambulance did not get there in time. She was left brain dead before she passed away. Even after everything she fought through, losing her like this was unexpected and heartbreaking.
I was Tara's at-home care person and PCA, so when she went into the hospital and never came home, I also lost my income. I have been trying to find a new job, but I have not had any luck. On top of grieving my sister, I am also trying to manage these expenses without the income I depended on. My mom has been impacted by all this also she has been going up to the hospital every chance she got an missed a lot of work we are all just trying to pull together in this time I can imagine what she's going thru ... We all miss you so much. Tara was my daughter's best friend and mine too, and this loss has been so hard on our family day to day.
Any donation, no matter the amount, would help us cover Tara's funeral expenses, costs, and afterlife management during this painful time. If you are not able to give, sharing this fundraiser would also mean so much. Thank you for helping us give Tara the care and dignity she deserves.
