For those of you that know Tara Monroe, you know that she is not your average mother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, colleague, neighbor, or friend! You know her for her strength in everything she does! You know her for her selfless acts of kindness and support given to everyone she encounters. She is the person you go to when you are in a pickle and a humbled, beautiful soul! You likely also know her because of her cute laugh and ability to bring a smile to your face. I know her as my best friend of 23 years...my person and I love her to pieces!

For those who may not know Tara so well, she is a Mother to Andrew (Kimberly), Joshua, Ayden, and Gavin and is the go-to family member in her tribe. She is a loving girlfriend to Derek. She is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and the Associate Director of Critical Care Advanced Practice Providers in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, TX. She has devoted 27 years of her life to nursing and helping save countless babies and children's lives. There is only one Tara Monroe in this world!

I created this GoFundMe as Tara and her family need our love, prayers, and support more than ever!

Tara has been newly diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). She has just begun the long haul of the necessary treatment, including urgent admission into the hospital on 11/1, a bone marrow biopsy on 11/2 and initiation of chemotherapy this week. Tara will be in the hospital for at least a month with this first round of chemotherapy and is told she will eventually need a Bone Marrow Transplant. Her youngest boys, Ayden and Gavin, are in high school and will be separated from Tara during her duration in the hospital, which presents an emotional challenge for Tara as she is used to running a tight ship for her boys at home.

I hope this GoFundMe page will lessen any financial burdens Tara and her Family will encounter along her treatment journey over the following days, months, and years to come. The funds will go directly to Tara and her family to start using when needed.
