Tara Lisabeth's Medical Journey

As you may or may not know her (but let’s be real, she’s basically a local celeb in Sarnia ), I can’t step out with Tara without her running into at least five people she knows! If you’ve ever been lucky enough to cross paths with her, you know what I mean! Tara’s got that special energy that makes everyone feel like they’ve known her forever. Whether we’re grabbing coffee (Iced Capps for her) or hitting up the local spots, it’s like a mini reunion everywhere we go. Honestly, I’m just here for the ride—and the endless high-fives from all the fans.

Alright, let’s get real for a second, and grab those tissues. Tara is not just the life of the party—she’s a warrior. She’s living with Cystic Fibrosis and has already gone through not one, but TWO double lung transplants. It’s been a wild journey, and she’s faced more challenges than most people will ever know. But if you’ve ever seen her smile, or felt her positivity, you know she doesn’t let anything keep her down. That’s why we’re here—to help lift her up.

Just when you think, what else can be thrown this girl’s way?—life hits her with another curveball. Tara has now been diagnosed with cancer. But if you know her, you know she’s not one to back down. She’s already faced so much and come out stronger each time, and I have no doubt she’s going to keep fighting. We’re rallying together for her, because she deserves all the love, support, and prayers right now.

And lastly, let’s talk about her incredible fertility journey. Before she starts chemo, Tara had to make a huge decision: freeze her eggs or embryos. After so much thought, she recently took the brave step to freeze her eggs, hoping one day to have the chance to become a mom. Tara has always had a heart full of love for babies—whether it's helping friends with their little ones or dreaming of one of her own. She truly deserves to hold her own baby in her arms, and we’re all rooting for that day to come.

As Tara’s best friend, I’m reaching out to all of you amazing humans to come together and help raise money for her medical costs during this cancer journey. Starting end of February, she’ll be staying in Toronto for chemo and immune therapy and will be off work for a while. It’s going to be a tough time for her, and anything we can do to ease the financial burden would mean the world. From medical bills to home bills, food, gas—literally anything helps. Let’s show Tara how much she’s loved and how strong her community is. No contribution is too small.
