Hi, my name is Tara, and for those who know me, know how hard it is for me to ask for any kind of help. Unfortunately, I have to reach out due to my current medical condition. As a three time cervical cancer survivor, I always have many appointments throughout the year for routine checkups. In 2022, during one of my routine exams, my doctor had found a small fibroid behind my uterus. There was very little concern and I was told there was no plan to remove it and it should not interfere with planning getting pregnant. As time went on, I started experiencing many painful symptoms and was told the fibroid was most likely the cause, but there was no plan to remove it. April of 2023, my husband and I miscarried. We continued our journey to try to start a family and could never get another positive pregnancy test. 2024 I started seeing a fertility doctor who wanted to revisit that fibroid I kept complaining about. The fibroid had grown over twice in size. My last appointment just a week ago showed that not only is the fibroid growing rapidly but is putting extreme pressure on my surrounding organs and blocking my fallopian tubes. The doctor stated that we should act aggressively and urgently and get me into the operating room as soon as possible. I have a surgery date of May 1st, and the recovery time is 6 weeks. Unfortunately, my insurance will not cover the full cost and I will be out of work until I feel well enough to return. So I am reaching out in hopes that I can raise enough money to help pay for my medical bills and help cover the cost of me not being able to work. I know times are hard and everyone is struggling, so if you don’t have the means, please just share this instead and keep me in your prayers.
