Tara and Kira Gardner

UPDATE 1/11/2022: Unfortunately, the surgery did not fix Kira's lung. They are reevaluating her condition before they move forward. Also, Kira has a fracture on her back and has/will be placed in a brace. They have told Tara that her recovery will be longer than originally anticipated. It may be awhile before Kira (and Tara) are coming home. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you!

On Saturday, 1/08/2022, Tara, and her daughter, Kira Gardner were in a horrible accident. Another motorist ran a red light and side swiped them going fifty miles an hour.

 

 

Tara, with a broken rib and other injuries, has forgone treatment so that she could go to Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital in Orlando. Kira was transported there quickly after the accident in severe condition with four broken ribs, a collapsed lung, along with other internal injuries. She has already undergone one emergency surgery and has a tear in one of her lungs.

 

 

Our hearts are breaking for them. Kira is in the best hands possible in one of the top hospitals for children in the world. As her friends and family, we can only leave it up the doctors and nurses, pray and send our best. We will try to update this page as we learn more, but as of now, we do not know how long Kira will be in the hospital.

 

The financial burden is where we can help.

 

 

 

The stress and emotional toll that Tara is feeling is more than any parent should have. We want to help with the rest. Tara will not leave Kira's side until she is released from the hospital. Besides loss of work, the burden of staying out of town can hit hard both emotionally and financially,

Kira is 9 years old and in 3rd grade at Royal Palm Charter school. The loves raspberry milkshakes and French fries, playing with her dog, Jack, swimming, the park, hikes with her mom, and most of all, she loves her family and friends.
