Taqueria Picaro Employee Fire Relief Fund

Hey Y'all! 

I just want to start off by sharing gratitude and respect to all of the great people of the Rogue Valley bonding together to help their community and a BIG thank you to all of the Fire Fighters that have been fighting these fires day and night. Many people in our area have been displaced after losing their Houses and it has been beautiful to see people showing them that their Home is not lost here with their communities. 

My name is Jeremy and I spent the last 7 years(until May) working at Taqueria Picaro in  Ashland. During my last 3 years there, I had the pleasure of working with my good friend Jose Piña on a nightly bases. I would normally see Jose clocking in after putting in an 8 hour day with his landscaping business, transitioning to a busy night time dinner rush in the kitchen; showing his dedication for providing for his family. Working with Jose was one of my many highlights each night as we would laugh and joke and never let the stress of a shift get us down. 

Unfortunately, like many others in our area, Jose lost his home in Talent during the Almeda fire on September 7th, 2020. After leaving his home in panic  with his wife, 2 year old son, and 6 month old daughter and leaving everything else behind, they returned to find their home in the Talent Mobile Estates and all of their belongings had been left in ruins.
