Tanya’s Skydive for Hope

In November 2020, our community lost a truly wonderful man, Michael McPhillips, who sadly took his own life. His loss is still deeply felt by so many who knew and loved him.

In Michael’s memory, Ray Of Hope was established in Fermanagh to help raise awareness around mental health, encourage open conversations, and support those who may be struggling in silence. As Vice Chairperson of the committee, I have seen first-hand just how important these conversations and services are within our community.

Michael would have celebrated his 60th birthday on 17th August 2026. To honour his memory and mark what should have been such a special milestone, I have decided to take on one of the biggest challenges of my life — completing a skydive.

I am covering the cost of the skydive myself, and through this fundraiser I hope to raise vital funds for local mental health services through The Aisling Centre and Women’s Aid, two organisations that provide incredible support, compassion and hope to people when they need it most.

Mental health affects so many families, friends and communities, often more quietly than people realise. If this fundraiser helps even one person feel seen, supported or able to reach out for help, then it will be worth it.

Any donation, no matter how big or small, would mean so much. Thank you for helping us continue Michael’s legacy of hope, kindness and community support.
