Helping with Tanya's Cancer Costs
Donation protected
Dear friends and family,
Our journey with cancer began in August 2014 after Tanya began to have severe fevers and night sweats. After a few months she was diagnosed with Classical Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Since that time, we have had many adventures filled with sleepless nights, many doctor appointments, scans, biopsies, homeopathic treatments, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, the birth of our beautiful Lydia Jael, and now the journey toward a stem cell transplant.
We thank the Lord for blessing us with wonderful insurance from 2014-2015 that covered 100% of our treatments with low copays. However, beginning in 2016 our plan was discontinued and the bills are starting to come in. We have another three months (at least) of chemo therapy, scans, biopsies, and a stem cell transplant coming this year. The transplant alone will cost at least $100,000!
Thankfully, our out-of-pocket maximum is only $3000 for the year—but our premium payments will add another $765 a month! In all, we will spend just shy of $13,000 this year on medical expenses, adding in travel and other miscellaneous health costs. This is a hefty burden with our precious little baby having just arrived and Tanya being unable to work. We know God will provide for us and did not plan on raising funds. However, a few family members have mentioned that some people had wanted to give but didn’t know how to do so.
Already we have spent a little over $3000 this year on medical costs, so the need is now. Again, we are in awe of how the Lord has provided for us, especially through our church members and family. We would be greatly humbled to have you join us financially in this battle against cancer.
Above all, please be in avid prayer for us. We know God alone is in control and the enemy’s attacks are real and constant. Here is a link to Tanya’s CaringBridge blog if you’d like to stay updated on our journey.
With a humble spirit and many blessings,
Sam, Tanya, and Lydia Copeland
