In Loving Memory of Tanya Johnson

Hello everyone, My name is Jacob Johnson and the beautiful lady in the photo above is my mom, Tanya Johnson who passed on April 6th, 2023. She was such an amazing aunt, sister, and daughter, and even took on the role of playing both parents when I was growing up. She had always put others in front of her and made sure people were taken care of no matter her circumstances.

On February 22nd, 2023, my mom was declared cancer free. Throughout the months and months of treatment she was receiving for lymphoma, her immune system became very weak which then led to her being infected with sepsis on her entire left leg around September 2022. With this information being passed on to me, I made efforts to move from Chicago back to San Jose, arriving on March 17th, to join DeAnna Martinez in being her other caretaker which consisted of changing, readjusting, cleaning her and replacing the wound bandages every three days.

In the late afternoon of March 26th, 2023 my mom was discharged from the hospital. While DeAnna would take the day shift, I had taken care of her during the night and early mornings, making sure she had received her daily doses of prescribed medications, coffee, smoothie, breakfast and sometimes dinner.

On the morning of April 6th, 2023, I woke up around 8:00 AM and saw she had departed comfortably in her sleep.

We are all devasted by Tanya's loss and were not prepared for the high cost of a funeral service. We want to give my mom the memorial she deserves, honor her memory and say our last goodbyes.

I am currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of my moms memorial. We need to raise $7,000 before the end of this month, all left over money will be going to myself as I am now fully independent, taking over my mothers lease and will be attending San Jose City College in the fall.
