Tanya Needs Hip Surgery
Donation protected
Hi,
Oh dear, I did not expect to be in this position. I'm used to living with chronic illness and dealing with that, but needing hip surgery at 30 was not on the cards! (lucky I'm already good with a cane hey?!)
Unfortunately, I have torn the labrum in my hip and have significant fluid and inflammation there also. I need surgery asap to fix it, help the severe pain and ensure it doesn't continue to peel off the cartilage and lead to me developing osteo arthritis.
What will they do? (Don't read if you are sensitive to icky stuff)
They will go on in there and use some little anchors to reattach it all together whilst also burning off the inflammation and drain out the fluid. They also need to shave some of my bone off to make sure this doesn't happen again.
What this means for me?
It costs 10k dollars which I have to come up with in 7 days, it also means I have to take 6 weeks off of work post-operation. So I have a little bit of savings I am throwing straight into this, obviously, but I'm still a long way off the total.
Why Private and not Public?
Due to Covid even though my case is extremely urgent the pausing of surgeries over the past 2 years means with the wait list it would be too late. I'd go from needing arthroscopy surgery to fix this problem, to developing Osteoarthritis and needing a complete hip replacement.

What I'm asking from you?
I'm asking if there is any chance you have even a $1 to spare you could?
It feels weird to be asking for money at a time like this, but it also feels extremely heartbreaking to be needing hip surgery at 30 years old.
Thank you in advance,
