This is Casper - he came to the hospital where I work to be assessed for a limp on May 26th. It turned out that he had a severely broken left hind limb of unknown causes, and had been that way for up to one week without any treatment. Unfortunately, the owner was not able to treat Casper’s injuries and had requested euthanasia, but the team at our hospital was determined to find an alternative solution. The owner relinquished Casper into my care, and we are now working on raising the funds needed to amputate his broken leg, which unfortunately is beyond repair. During this entire time he has remained nothing but sweet - he’s been nuzzling me and sitting quietly, just trusting that I am doing my best to save him.
