Tannery Creek Ballpark Improvements
Donation protected
The Tannery Creek Ballpark is getting a face lift, and we need your help! The Tannery Creek Ballpark, which has been a large part of the community sine the 1950's, is in desperate need of a new backstop and fencing.
The current fence, installed 35 years ago, poses a risk for both players and fans. Currently, the fence has spots where the holes are patched with wire in the backstop to try to prevent baseballs from getting through. Also, the current fence does not prevent the flow of water from the outside of the diamond onto the playing field. With the current setup, the water from the hill and concession area runs onto the field bringing debris and rocks with it. This debris and rocks creates an unsafe and undesirable playing experience. The water that comes onto the field also runs through the infield and to the outfield taking good infield material with it, creating more expenses forTannery and more labor preparing the field for games.
The new backstop and side fencing will take care of the existing problems. With construction starting Aug 27th, a 6 foot concrete wall will be poured under the new fencing from visitor to home dugouts. Both sides of the wall will have drain tile to take away unwanted water. The inside wall will be covered with a maroon colored mat on the inside of the playing field. On the outside of the playing field, we will have full blend cobble flats (decorative rock)--which will be adhered in spring. Most of the expected project is slated to be done this fall to prevent interference with the upcoming spring Rib Lake High School baseball season.
Please consider donating to this cause as it will have a positive impact for our community, high school baseball team, men's baseball, and our little league programs with over 150 participants yearly.
For a donation of $100 or more, you will get your name, business, or organization engraved into one of the full blend cobble flats to be adhered to the wall.
For a donation of $500 or more, you will get a engraved full blend cobble flat along with a distinguishing Rib Lake Redmen logo adhered to the wall. Also, you will be recognized on August 9th, 2019 at the opening game of the WBA semi-finals as well as Star News coverage.
These stones are a great opportunity to honor a loved one, contribute as an alumni, advertise as a business, honor your family name, and keep the tradition of baseball going in our community for generations to come. If you have ever played at this field at one time, have kids or grandchildren playing, or simply come to enjoy the games--please consider a donation.
Any donation amount is greatly appreciated, and is essential to help complete this large project. Also, please don't forget to share our link to help spread the word--even if you are unable to donate! If you are donating $100 or more, please leave the exact wording of what you want on the stone in the comments section when completing your donation. Also, after entering your donation amount, click "other" in the tip box and change to $0, as tips are not necessary.
