Hello outdoor enthusiasts! As some of you are aware, Tannersville, NY is home to a fantastic off-road bike park, The Hatheway Loops , built through the generosity of the Hunter Foundation and its donors . This 6 mile area of specifically- built mountain bike trails are well utilized and maintained by the riders who use them. As we continue to seek outdoor recreation for the local community, second home owners and people whom visit our area, I present to you the proposed development of another exciting destination:
The Tannersville Bike Park Area II: The Colonial Loops .
Starting off on Allen Lane in the heart of Tannersville ( next to the Colonial Country Club & Golf Course ), riders will pedal down the lane as they enjoy the beautiful view of the Mink Hollow Valley ( where I grew up and learned how to ride ) and travel 1/2 mile on pavement before they enter the wooded trails . The existing loop is currently 2 miles and we are shooting for a 4-5 mile bi-directional flow loop which will be an excellent introduction for 1st timers, beginner riders and an absolute blast for the intermediate and advanced riders . We will be adding fresh cut offshoots for intermediate and advanced riders as well!
Jay Rosenbaum ( Rosey ) of KSA Built, is ready to begin mid summer to implement our vision. Jay is well known in the mountain bike circle for his extraordinary work at the Killington Bike Park and numerous other areas. 100% of the funds raised go to Jay for his building cost, machine time, fuel and signage. I ask for you to consider a donation of any size to help us achieve our fundraising goal!
The icing on the cake, The Hunter Foundation has generously agreed to match whatever we can raise through this effort dollar for dollar up to $20,000.
I am also looking for assistance from anyone who is interested in layout and rough cutting in the additional offshoot loops. It can be your vision and line to be enjoyed and ridden by others! The property is adjacent to the Huckleberry rail trail which connects Tannersville both east and west to County Route 16, Tannersville Lake and Cortina Valley. With more people using the Colonial loops, I hope to see riders enjoying the trails and getting a bite to eat at the Colonial Golf Course
Club house and other local eateries. Can you imagine getting in 9 holes of golf and a couple laps in on some excellent flow trails from the same parking spot?
Donations of $50 or more to the Hunter Foundation through this Gofundme will get a tax -deductable receipt for tax records.
Thanks in advance for any donation amount. Let's make the village of Tannersville and the Town of Hunter grow, prosper and reach it's full potential as the place to play outdoors.
This is going to be fun! Ernie Reale
