Hi Everyone! My name is Tanner Waterman. Some of you who'll visit this page know me in real life. Some of those people also know that, back in 2019, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Liver Disease, Primary Sclerosing Colongitis. I have been learning about this disease and growing my life around it ever since I was diagnosed, going through the necessary testing and procedures and taking the necessary medication to keep it in check. Recently I was informed that my disease is progressing faster than my doctor predicted and so he started me on my transplant journey. I published this gofundme 4 months ago and in one night I nearly doubled what I had asked for in donations. I didn’t know what to say nor how to express how grateful I was for everyone I’ve gotten to know in the past few years and to friends and family that have known me for much longer. That being said I am publishing this gofundme again but not to raise money. Instead I am asking for everyone’s help in finding someone that would be willing to be an organ donor. The liver is a special organ in that it can regenerate itself which makes it one of the few organs that can come from a living donor. During the transplant they take part of the donor’s liver and replace mine with it. Once this is done both the donor’s liver as well as the portion they donate to me will regrow to the size of a normal liver. Please share and spread the word, anyone that is willing to donate please reach out and I will provide the necessary information to get evaluated by my doctor’s at USC. They told me I don’t need to get anyone or do any type of self-evaluation but anyone that is B or O type blood can donate and anyone that doesn’t know their blood type but would still like to donate or find more information about the process can reach out to myself and USC to be evaluated either way. I thank everyone in advance for taking their time in reading my story and for sharing. I’ve seen first hand the power and reach of just a few people and It still blows my mind.
