Hey y’all! My name is Joanie Bennett. My brother-in-law Tanner Watkins was diagnosed with Spindle Cell Sarcoma, which is a rare form of bone cancer. We already know it's stage 4 without having done the pet scan. It is very aggressive and very fast moving. He has been on oxygen for over 2 weeks now and breathing is getting harder by the day. Pain meds can barely keep up.
According to Jamie (my sister/his wife): We went to a Super Bowl in GA and the Chattanooga Aquarium February 8th. He had absolutely no symptoms other than his usual pain from what we thought was complications from his AS (Ankylosing Spondylitis). He started a new job that week and felt fine. About 2 wks later, he was coughing and thought he picked up bronchitis from one of our doctor visits. A week later, he was struggling to breathe. February 27th, he was admitted showing growths in his lungs that showed cancer-like cells but couldn't confirm at that time. During the next week, he had two biopsies done, a bronchoscopy, multiple x-rays and CT scans, and multiple other tests. They sent us home to wait for the results. After sending off the biopsies for further testing, they both originally came back as inconclusive but we later got the diagnosis.
He is now starting chemo treatments. Please pray that these will help him and he will get through them as they are pretty intense. I know we serve a BIG God. And only He knows the future. One way or another, Tanner will be healed. Right now, he is still having much difficulty breathing and can barely outrun the pain. Please pray for our family as we brave through this difficult time. All prayers are appreciated and coveted. Thank you and God bless.
All funds on here will go to help Tanner, Jamie and their boys during this time.
