Tanner "Seeks too much Discomfort"

My brother, Tanner remains to be the most fearless person I know. Always attempting to stretch his boundaries, he never shies away from any challenge that tests him mentally, physically or emotionally. His life mantra, adopted from the guys from Yes Theory, is to always Seek Discomfort.
I know you work really hard for your money and you have your own bills to pay, but even if it's just a few bucks, collectively that can go a long way. A few dollars from each person can really add up.

On Sunday, April 3rd, Tanner went sledding down a hill at the local ski resort. He knew the hill was steep, but took to the challenge of riding it down anyways. He was catching great speed but soon realized he was heading right towards one of the ski lift towers. He attempted to bail but ended up hurdling straight into the tower, rag-dolling around the side of it and sliding down the hill. His initial thought "ouch, that hurt..." and then he looked down.
Poking through his pants leg was 3 inches of shiny white bone wrapped in buttery yellow fat tissue and topped with strawberry red blood; he had broken his femur. Not sure how in the world he was going to walk that one off, he yelled for someone to call 9-1-1. Thankfully someone heard him and called right away.
Tanner attempted to drag himself and even attempted to stand as he tried to find a way to get himself the rest of the way down the mountain. Of course, none of that worked, but eventually deputies arrived and placed two tourniquets around his thigh. A helicopter arrived soon after and Tanner was flown to the local trauma hospital ER.
After a small dose of fentanyl, they shoved his bone back into his body while he waited for an operating room to open. The doctor couldn't help snapping a picture before wrapping his leg of what he found to be the most ironic phrase ever tattooed next to such a traumatic injury site: "Seek Discomfort".
The surgery was a doozy. What was supposed to take 90 minutes took 4.5 hours. He had shattered his femur into 6 different pieces and had split the head of the bone in half. A rod was placed the full extent of the femur as well as 9 screws between his hip and his knee to hold everything all together.
Luckily it was his leg and not his head that smashed into that ski tower. Tanner is gonna have one heck of a scar right next to his tattooed life mantra; ironic now but a badge of proof later as he never stops aiming to "Seek Discomfort".
There's a chance his "fun and fancy" helicopter ride plus surgery and hospital stay will be covered by Medicaid if he's approved (still pending) but he still will have all his other regular bills and physical therapy and food to pay for while trying to rock and roll as a peg-legged pirate. What I'm trying to say is, his recovery will take several months and cost thousands of dollars all while he is unable to work. Hence, the GoFundMe.
Thanks for reading this extra long story. And thank you for donating and/or sharing this link. Pray that this experience is a one book series and not some Stephen King chronicle. Thanks everyone for all your prayers and support
