Tania's 2 Rooms
Donation protected
Earlier on this year, vibrant local mother of one, Tania Lindner-Curran, was unfortunately diagnosed with breast cancer. Since then, Tania, her husband Bob Lindner (a former Australian Rugby League great) and their 5 year old daughter, Sienna, have faced a journey full of hardships and emotions most of us could not even begin to fathom. Throughout these tough times, Tania and her family have remained in high spirits, despite having to face a looming double mastectomy in October. If this wasn’t enough, they have also had to deal with the closure of their family business, accumulating medical bills and having to rent out their family home. Regardless of the many troubles they now face, Tania has one small wish, which is to move into the granny flat detached from their old home in Cleveland. The move back to Cleveland will allow Tania to not only be close to medical staff and Sienna’s school but also family and friends, to help her with her recovery following the operation.
At this stage the granny flat consists of two small rooms, which we are now trying to convert into a habitable space. We are reaching out to the community to assist us in helping this amazingly strong woman to achieve her very accomplishable goal. These two rooms measure approximately 4.5m x 3m & 4m x 3m respectively and we are hoping to organize a mini ‘Domestic Blitz’ style renovation to help bring these rooms to life. The first room will be transformed into the family bedroom with a king sized bed, a built in bunk bed overhead and a simple closet space. The second room will be converted into a living area, with a little kitchenette and study situated in the corners. We want to create a small but perfectly formed family space for them to enjoy.
Clearly, we need a great deal of help to make this happen and to reach our goal by 30th September 2015.
Even the smallest contributions can make a huge difference and give a sense of reward that can be felt as a community from helping a family through their time of need.
