Tania’s Writing Sabbatical

Dear Friends,
As spring approaches I’ve decided to take a leap into the unknown and embark on a month-long writing sabbatical. As many of you know, writing, and particularly poetry, is a deep love and calling of mine.
Over the past few years I have become increasingly aware of how short our time here really is. Life is unpredictable and our departure uncertain. What I have gained over these past years is a fierce, growing love and devotion to the beauty that we are, each of us, and that this world is. There is so much the heart longs to give and express.
In order to truly honor this heart-felt longing, I have decided to take a break from my commitments and responsibilities for a month and devote myself to the writing process. I am excited about taking this leap. Even now, as I write, I feel an inner joy bubbling up inside, a deep love for the gift of life, for the opportunity life has given each of us to contribute and to express our love and gratitude.
For such a long time I experienced an inner narrative that said it was unsafe to express from the depth of my mind and heart, to express what is most alive and vital. Maybe it’s growing older, maybe it’s because of a world seemingly gone mad, maybe it’s simply time, the moment is ripe to surrender these old narratives and live a life that feels truly worthy of who I am, and the miracle life is. A life that celebrates the capacity each of us has to love, to give whole-heartedly, to contribute sanely to our world.
And so, it is for this reason I wish to deep dive into the creative fire. It is a privilege to have the opportunity to explore what it means to be here, to be alive and to live in this world at a time when so very much is uncertain, and so very much is possible! I see a more sane world, a beautiful world where each and every one of us knows our inherent worth and goodness, and where each of us, in whatever way is most natural, contributes and shares unabashedly the gifts that are uniquely ours to share and pay forward.
I’m writing and sharing this with you because you are someone in my life that has supported me through your presence and friendship. I’m asking for your support again in witnessing the commitment I’m making to step into this next chapter. If it’s financial support you can give, then that would benefit me greatly by creating more ease as I take a month off work and create a writing space for myself in Washington State. I equally welcome your support and encouragement, a simple wish or prayer that this be a blessed time of discovery and creativity.
If you do choose to support financially, I’m seeking to raise $3000. Your contribution will go towards travel, lodging and living expenses for the sabbatical month. In addition, I will be creating a blog with weekly updates, poems and other writings to share with you.
Thank you so much for your friendship and support.
With gratitude & love,
Tania
