Hi all! My name is Ekin and I'm the director of the film Tangent. Tangent is my 7th short film and my grad capstone project at Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver. My films are an attempt at making sense of and sharing the ineffable experience of being human.

ABOUT THE FILM

A girl from the 80s yearning for home. A emotional writer on his boat. Time is more complicated than we think. The grounds for love can be the reason it all ends.

When Amanda who has been stuck in 2027, figures out a way to go back home to the 1980’s, she decides to sneak out at night. She is caught by her awoken boyfriend Reed, who realizes the relationship has come to an end. Intercut with flashbacks from their relationship on a boat, Tangent captures the last moments of a couple before they go their separate ways.
