TANDEM BIKE FOR BLIND RIDER

This is my very good friend, Richard.  He was born with a progressive eye condition that causes blindness.  He is only able to designate light and dark.... some days better than others just depending on the sun and cloud conditions.

Although nearly blind, Richard has been running since he was a kid.  Even now, he gets up at dawn, nearly every morning, to run a memorized route in his neighborhood.

I met Richard while I was training and the conversation of doing a "guided triathlon" came up.  Finally, he has agreed how fun it might be to do a Duathlon.....run, bike, run!!!

So now we are asking for your help in the purchase of a Tandem bike.  The one in the photo is a rental that Eric Mitchell got to take Richard on a practice ride.  Needless to say (as all cyclists/triathletes know)... he instantly fell in love with the bike.

Please give what you can...... I know when I see an impaired athlete on the course that I am inspired to do more and my excuses go out the window.   Help us to get Richard out there to help inspire others!!!
