Howdy, my name is Jonathan Treviño, and I am a fourth-year student at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. I am currently studying the science of Meteorology which focuses on the behavior of the Earth’s atmosphere or weather and climate and how it can affect society and the environment. I am one of the few selected to go study abroad in Germany and Austria this coming May. This selection process was hard for professors since they can’t take everyone who signed up due to limited funds provided by the University. I am one of the 25 students selected for this program because I was waitlisted last year for a similar experience in Barbados. What I hope to gain from this experience is to understand mountain weather meteorology along with forecasting any threats that can impact areas that encounter severe winter weather conditions.

I am asking for financial assistance because the program begins shortly after the spring semester ends and every semester my parents take on the additional expense of whatever is not covered by grants, scholarships, and loans. This will be my last chance to study abroad before I graduate. It will also be my first time out of the country. I’m excited about this opportunity and kindly ask for any assistance you or others may give toward this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Any amount is welcomed and would be greatly appreciated.
