TAMU Sahithya Fundraiser 24-25

Sahithya is the premier competitive Indian Classical Dance Team at Texas A&M University. The name itself, Sahithya, means literature or lyricality in Sanskrit, which the team brings through the complexity of emotion portrayed. Sahithya urges for the preservation of traditional style and culture while also bringing a contemporary richness to their dance. We strive to bring awareness to social issues that affect the South Asian American community through the classical arts. The funds raised will go towards competition expenses and to help further our journey.

In the past, Sahithya won 1st at Dhirana, Pittsburgh during the 2022-2023 competition season. During the 2023-2024 competition season, Sahithya won 1st in Nachte Raho in Iowa City, 2nd at Dhirana in Pittsburgh competed at Mayuri in Washington DC, and qualified for the Origins Nationals competition in Chicago for the first time in the lengthy history of the team.
