Tammy’s final arrangements

Tammy Hodges was a happy, active self sufficient person, at work and at church. Tammy was born in the New Orleans area, but also lived in Oakland, California. When her mother moved back to the New Orleans area Tammy moved back with her.

Tammy had a stroke while at work that devastated her whole world. By the time she was well enough to check into trying to keep her benefits at work it was too late to reinstate her life insurance. Six months after the stroke Tammy was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer.

Always trying to give back and keep spirits up, Tammy's Mom, Polar, started buying, decorating and donating caps for cancer patients, some of whom they met at chemo. Although she couldn't afford to do this, she scrimped and saved to bring the sick a little joy.

Tammy now has been put into hospice care at the home she shares with her mom. Tammy is unmarried, has no children, and her siblings live in California. It is just Tammy and her elderly Mom caring for each other.


Any help toward Tammy's final expenses would be deeply appreciated by Tammy, Polar (her mom) and all who love them.
