Tammy's Fight to Beat Cancer & Ring that Bell

Let me preface this by saying I am not the one who usually broadcasts their serious personal issues. But as someone told me I have to take my pride and tell that B to go sit down I the corner somewhere. So here I am, raw and broken... In August 2021, I went to the hospital due to hemorrhaging. After transvagainal and 2 transabdominal ultrasounds, they discovered a mass. That's when the fear set in. After much testing and 2 biopsies on the mass and my uterous, it was determined I had severe endometritis, and the mass was diagnosed as an adenocarcinoma, otherwise positive for uterine cancer.
In September, I had surgery to remove the mass and started HDR brachytherapy, basically direct radiation therapy. This was the best course of treatment given that I had a high level of cell activity but the absence of any mets. The plan was to do this 3x a week for 6-9 months with the hope of having hysterectomy surgery after.
I had my 1st set of post-treatment scans in December, which were not the most encouraging. My cell activity had increased, which met a higher level of radiation moving forward. It was at this time I made the decision to cut back on my hours at work to reduce the stress and actually care for my body and my health.
I started to feel more like myself, the pain from treatments was subsiding but I was in a constant state of exhaustion. Those that know me, know I am like the energizer bunny, with energy to spare... it was definitely a change I was not used to.
Fast forward to the current day. I just had my 8week scans and was again hit with the news that I'm moving in the wrong direction. Hemoglobin levels are deficient, cell activity is high, and now have the presence of mets. What does this mean? It means radiation is increased and now being administered 5x a week with the added bonus of IV platinum compound chemo 1x a week.
I have been blessed with a great care team and the most amazing support team, but now I have to reach out for help. My out-of-pocket cost of treatments is going from almost $300 to more than $600 a month in addition to the $200 a month in prescriptions, and of course, the added intensive treatments means work is again gonna take another drop, so I must humble myself and ask for help. For those close to me, know that is probably the hardest thing for me to do. I have no intention of giving up this fight and having watched loved ones and friends go thru this same fight, I know keeping my faith and positivity is the key.
Any small amount will help; please share and don't hesitate to reach out. I want to extend my deepest gratitude in advance and I will continue to keep you updated on my progress thru this journey.

Be well. Be Blessed.
