This fundraiser is for my mom, Tammy Rose. She was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer at only 58 years old. After dealing with lower back and hip pain through 2024, going to multiple doctors, and trying multiple avenues of relief (all while under the impression that she had sciatica and arthritis), her symptoms kept progressing. She became dependent on a walker and cane in Nov '24 and was unable to continue working in Feb '25. In late February '25, it was discovered that the breast cancer she battled in 2013 (double mastectomy) and 2018 (chemotherapy) was back again. Extensive full-body scans and biopsies revealed that the original breast cancer had mutated into two more aggressive variations and had spread to her bones and a couple of organs.
Tammy's current management/treatment plan (as of late March) includes radiation, oral medication, injections, and physical therapy for lymphedema and body strengthening. The hope is to keep the cancer from spreading even more and to shrink what is already in her body. We are hoping and praying for positive results from her next scans in the fall of 2025! The scans will give more information and help guide her management plan. We currently do not have a prognosis.
All of you who know Tammy know what a positive and uplifting woman my mom is! She is always giving to others and sharing love and kindness while making friends everywhere she goes! It is much easier for her to give than to receive. I feel that now is a good time to reach out to all of her family and friends to help show her the love and kindness that she has shown all of us throughout her entire life! Tammy deserves to be celebrated!! She would love to see your smiling faces in person so save the date..
Tammy's 59th Birthday Bash!!
It will be an open house event, Sunday, August 10th, 2025, 12 pm-8 pm. Cards/gifts welcome! There will be a silent auction from 1 pm-4 pm, with winners announced at 4:30 pm. A nacho bar and cupcakes will be provided. You're able to order menu items and drinks at your own expense. Party location inquiries: See contact information at the end!
The reason for this fundraiser is to help give my mom peace of mind that she will have her bills and medical expenses fully covered, as well as covering end-of-life expenses in advance.
So, there it is folks. I'd like to wrap up on a positive note! The goal is set high because my mom deserves the best quality of life! After necessities are covered, it would be great for her to be able to enjoy some extras, a humble bucket list if you will. Things such as:
Very cushy patio furniture (mama's bones hurt); sunshine is good for the soul.
Pool pass for water therapy; water is good for the body.
A local concert; mama loves live music, though she'll have to tone down her dance moves and stick to the shuffle these days.
Pedicures; cheaper than a podiatrist and more relaxing. And so I don't have to rub mom's feet before I absolutely have to.
A portable ramp; for her to get out and about safely to enjoy her community.
A Hoveround; Will my brothers decorate it with stickers and soup it up to make it faster? Hopefully mom's mobility improves soon and we don't have to find out.
