Tammy Martel's Battle with CJD

Tammy Martel is a beloved mother, daughter, and friend who has been diagnosed with a very rare brain disease called Cruetzfeldt-Jakob disease, better known as CJD, at just 45 years old. Just 300 people per year are diagnosed with CJD in the United States. This disease can be explained as a very fast progressing dementia. Unfortunately, CJD cannot be cured and she does not have much time left with us. We are heart broken over this diagnosis but will remain strong for Tammy, as anything less she would be disappointed in. The many people who love her are doing their best to support not only Tammy, but her family, and closest friends in this very difficult time. Tammy is a single mother with 3 children. One is autistic, one is in college, and the other works full time to help support his family and has been left in a position that no 19 year old would ever dream of having to fulfill. Tammy also cares for her 2 older parents who have many health challenges of their own. Tammy is a unique, fun-loving, kind, and hard-working woman. She is also funny, high-spirited, and intelligent, and despite it all, she remains in very high spirits. She is someone you can count on to be there for you and we are doing our best to do the same for her during this horrific time. We ask that you consider donating to Tammy and her deserving family.
