Tammy Lawson Memorial Fund

During this most difficult time, it has been of great comfort to see the number of people who knew and loved Tammy. While her ongoing battles with countless knee surgeries and her recent amputation may have limited her physically, it’s clear that socially, she was not lacking. Her network of friends is beyond what most of us experience in a lifetime and I’m certain that is what carried her through what otherwise could have been very gloomy and hopeless days. That being said, many of you have reached out to the family asking what you can do to help and that is what inspired me to set up this fund. Tammy did not have any life insurance nor did she have any preplanned funeral/memorial arrangements and therefore the financial responsibility falls to Tammy’s mother, my Aunt Sandy. Many of you may be aware that it wasn’t too long ago that we lost my Uncle Bill rather unexpectedly and I’m certain my aunt is still dealing with the loss of her longtime love and also the financial burden of his services. My hope is that, together, we can all contribute to this fund to help my aunt focus on what really matters right now—mourning the loss of her daughter and preparing to move forward, rather than the financial stresses also associated with the situation. I’ve never set up a GoFundMe page before and frankly, I struggled with what to write in this section. So, I’m speaking (typing) from my heart when I say this…
My aunt Sandy has a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. As cliché as it may sound, she would REALLY give you the shirt right off her own back. She would give you her last dollar. I know Tammy was loved by many and I know Tammy adored her mother. The last thing she would want is for her mom to have additional stresses as she goes through what are most certainly going to be some pretty terrible days. This is a way we can all pull together to honor Tammy and help her family during this very sad and difficult time. All contributions will be directly applied to her funeral expense.
