Whether you’re here because you asked my family where you could contribute or here because you saw the page and decided to click, thank you. On Thursday, April 29th, my family and I were struck with the worst news imaginable. After hours of worrying and trying to convince 911 emergency services that something was wrong, we learned that my mom had taken her own life.
My mom, Tammie Perry, struggled with mental illness for her entire life. She also loved music, mostly 70's rock and 00's rap. She loved movies like Silver Linings Playbook and anything starring John Travolta. She was an impeccable student who attended college while taking care of four children. She loved getting her nails and hair done, going out to eat with her family, and driving around town.
Above all else Tammie was a mother. She was put on this earth to love children. Me and my siblings are who we are because of our mom. Manners, music tastes, and the courage to pursue our dreams are what I am most grateful for. Tammie had a lot of different jobs over the years, but I know that her true calling up until the day she left us was to make sure her children felt surrounded by love every single day.
My family has decided to create this page to give those asking about this type of contribution a central place to do so. The funds will specifically be going towards alleviating costs of her cremation and arrangements, as well as the cost of her celebration of life (which is being held in lieu of a funeral service).
