For those who don't know, I am the 2nd oldest out of 7 kids. Between the 7 of us we have blessed my mother with 15 beautiful grandchildren ranging in age from 1 to 13. Although if you ask my Mom and alot of our friends, she has probably double that number! She was the Mom that took everyone in, the "strays" as my Dad like to call us and our friends. She married my Dad 17 years ago come November 26th but they've been together for almost 20! Nothing in this world means more to them than us kids and the grandkids. My Mom lives for us and these babies and she is the best mother and grandmother that we could have ever hoped for!
On September 24th my mother, Tammie Lucas, was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. She started having severe pain around her ribs and in her abdomen back in October of 2019. Over the past year she has seen about 8 different specialist who all claim to have ran every test possible and were doing everything they can. Although she was in severe pain that eventually led to her not being able to eat or sleep, she was still denied any real pain medication. My Granny wanted to see her labs and once she looked at them she told my mother to go to a gastro doctor and get a CT scan immediately because her levels didn't look right. Less than 24 hours after the scan they called my mom to confirm that she had a mass on her pancreas which a biopsy later determined to be Pancreatic Cancer. They also discovered that she has cancerous nodes on her stomach and liver. She started chemotherapy this month and will continue until the beginning of the year, at which point they will do another scan to determine a date for surgery. During surgery they will remove the parts of her liver and stomach along with the tumor. She will be in the hospital for a couple of weeks and recovery will be long and hard afterwards. My Dad, Mathew Lucas is a Tankerman for Enterprise and has been approved for his FMLA however they are going to need alot of assistance with month to month bills and proper care and maintenance of their everyday lives. Any and all donations will be for them and their needs, allowing my Dad to stay beside her for as long as this battle takes!
My Mom is a fighter, I've watched fight and win in battles that most succumb to! She has never given up and she doesn't intend to now. Absolutely any help is beyond appreciated and we will be forever grateful!
I set the goal at $25,000 which is I know is a pretty high amount, this amount includes 6 months worth of bills plus the $5,000 deductible for her insurance that starts over when all this is kicking off.
Thank you!
