I have a best friend named Tami. More like a sister really. She’s one of those friends that gives and gives and gives. And when she has nothing more to give, she gives some more. She’s upbeat and positive, puts all others before herself and has a hard time asking for help. I’m sure you know someone like this… or maybe it’s you.

In May of last year, Tami found a lump in her breast. Her doctors conducted several mammograms in the following 8 months and each diagnosis assured her it was nothing to worry about. After insisting this couldn’t be, she finally found a doctor in January who would listen. Within a week, she was in for an ultrasound, MRI and biopsy. We were hopeful, as the mass appeared to be shrinking. And then the results came back - positive for invasive ductal carcinoma. Cancer. And then I cried. I cried buckets.

Since then, her doctor has been able to remove the cancerous mass and 2 lymph nodes. Tami is now awaiting genetic testing to help determine the course of action that will need to be taken.

And to top it off, Tami was scheduled for a cardiac ablation before she was diagnosed positive for cancer (to hopefully fix her ventricular tachycardia), which has now been postponed until treatment for her cancer is completed.

As you can imagine, these have been stressful times, the medical expenses are already piling up and will be accumulating rapidly over the course of the next year.

I am reaching out to all of you to join me in giving back to Tami, to help relieve the added stress of medical bills... and give to her the way she gives to the rest of the world.
