My name is Tamika Floyd and on November 17th 2020 I was rushed to the hospital by paramedic do to a seizure. I wasn't diagnosed with a seizure disorder nor epilepsy prior to that day but since then the seizures haven't stopped. Epilepsy was ruled out and I was diagnosed with PNES psychogenic nonepileptic seizures. Since then I have several seizures a day almost everyday since November 17th 2020.
I've had multiple blood tests, MRIs, Ultrasounds, doctors visits, hospital visits, specialist visits and I've tried several different medications all due to the seizures. I worked in the healthcare field prior to all this and ended up exhausting my FMLA time and extensions and on January 6th 2021 I lost my job. I was devastated.
I'm currently taking 9 different medications daily and I'm mentally and physically exhausted. I had already been diagnosed with major depression, panic disorder, ptsd and borderline personality disorder years ago and now all of it has gotten worse.
I don't know what to do. I don't qualify for unemployment because I am unable to work. I've applied for disability benefits in February. I am currently still waiting on their determination. At this point I'm praying for a miracle so that I don't lose my apartment too due to lack of income for monthly expenses.
