It is with great dismay that I find myself writing a case scenario about someone so near and dear to me for 32 years. As a Medical Staff Coordinator, I generally compose case reviews about patients I do not know. This fundraising effort is geared to assist my best friend Tamie Hopkins who is also an amazing mother of 2 sons, daughter, aunt and newly engaged to be married in Spring 2019. On October 1st, we received the devastating news that Tamie has Stage II left breast cancer with 2 tumors (a= 41x13x29 MM and b= 44x17x42 MM) in addition to fibroids reaching to her lymph nodes. A few weeks later following test results, she received more devastating news that there is also a 1 cm spot on her spine and that she now has Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC), HER-2 positive. She has already started chemotherapy and will need to undergo over a year’s worth of aggressive surgery, radiation, reconstructive surgery and further radiation and medication treatment. Due to this extensive, aggressive care plan Tamie will be off work for an unforeseeable duration. As difficult as it is for her to reach out and ask for financial assistance she does not have the capacity to afford medical and living expenses solely on disability. Although Stage IV cancer sounds like it’s the end her situation looks very hopeful that she will beat cancer and go into remission with the chance of living and thriving with her family and friends for many years. Any donation and/or sharing of this campaign, love, support, prayers and positive vibes are greatly appreciated. Updates will continue to be posted here for everyone to be aware of her progress.
