August 1, 2019 UPDATE
Tami has completed her 9th round of chemo and we received the news that the treatment is ineffective. We are going back to the drawing board for treatment. It seems that we are on a much larger journey that originally thought. We have been blown away by the love, encouragement, and support that has been put out to us. Several of you are asking how to help. As we look to the future, the financial impact to our family will be significant. Thank you so much for your generosity and love to us. We rest In hope because even now we trust that #Godisbigger.

My friends - I wanted to share publicly the journey we have found ourselves on. I haven’t been feeling well for a few weeks, but it wasn’t until I went to the ER this weekend with uncontrollable pain that we learned the truth. I have been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that has metastasized to the liver. While it has been a unbelievable shock the first thing to keep working its way thru the fears, tears and questions is this truth - God is Bigger.
My team at the hospital has worked diligently and quickly. I will undergo a liver biopsy tomorrow as well as intestinal surgery to remove the diseased colon. Once healing from this surgery in several weeks I will begin chemo. While my diagnosis is quite serious my team believes we have many many options and that there is significant hope to kick this sucker. And the greatest hope of it all is - God is Bigger. Bigger than cancer cells, bigger than fear, bigger than navigating the whole wide world of cancer treatment, bigger and more capable than we could ever know. I rest in this truth.
