Tamia Johnson’s Summer Music In Tuscany Program

Hi everyone! My name is Tamia Johnson and I’m an undergraduate freshman majoring in Vocal Performance at Towson University. Music is one of the things that I’m very passionate about and will one day have a career of not only being a vocalist but a musician and have the opportunity to work with other artists all over the world. I’ve recently auditioned for a summer music program called “Summer Music In Tuscany” and I got accepted into their Intermediate/Advance Adult 2 week session from July 15th through July 30th where I will be learning about Italian culture, music, vocal coaching sessions where I work on solo repertoire and most importantly have the opportunity to perform in Florence, Italy. This program is something I’ve been looking forward to and I know will have such an amazing experience being able to learn about the culture and music so I can better interpret that into other pieces that I work on especially Italian pieces. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I strongly believe that this program was meant to be for me to be in so I can continue doing what I love and that’s to tell a story with music and my voice that God has blessed me with. The tuition for the program is $1,800 but, it doesn’t include my flight (between $1,600-$1,800) housing (between $50-$100 a night) or food (between $20-$50) outside of the events that take place within the program and this fundraising will help be able to pay for my housing, tuition and travel. I come from a single family household and my mother does all that she can to help me when she can but I know this program is something that she can’t contribute on her own as she has to also take care of her bills as well. If anyone sees this I just ask that you share this with your family and friends. Anything can help and just you sharing and getting it out to the world means more than I could ask for and I appreciate you all.
