Tami's Educator's Study in Finland

My name it Tami Anderson. I have been privileged to have been a teacher for the past 26 years and now to be employed as an Instructional Coach in the Provo City School District, Provo, Utah.
School reform is a hot topic these days. We ask many questions. "What can we do to improve the education of American students?" "What are other high performing countries doing in their schools to produce such outstanding student outcomes?" "What can we learn from these countries?" This has been my passion to find answers to these questions.
When an opportunity to participate in the Global Education Allies Finland program, I jumped at the chance to go. This program spends two weeks in June to travel to Finland to study the educational programs in that country. We will meet teachers throughout every educational level, Kindergarten through twelfth grade. I plan to bring all of my findings and experiences home to Utah to share with my fellow educators whom I work with in hopes that it will directly help the students in my district.
I am looking to Go Fund Me in hopes of alleviating the cost of such an endeavor. I have a plane ticket and program fee for which I need to raise money to offset some of the cost. Any amount will help. If you would like to help me by making a donation on this page, I will be very grateful. Not only will it help me finance my study, but also provide residual effects passed on to my teachers and district officials, and ultimately, the students!
