The time has come and after 2 years of growing out the luscious locks I’ve decided to shave my head for Mental Health. After having a very rough time with my own mental health in 2020 I understand the difficulty of speaking up. It wasn’t until I reached out and spoke to friends, family and councillors where everything became easier. Mental health starts with me so if you feel like you have any problems that you want to speak about please do. I’ve also chosen a small, non for profit organisation called Speak & Share to raise funds for.

 

Speak & Share work to create a community that encourages starting the conversation and highlighting the importance of checking in on a mate. They seek to build the confidence for people in need to reach out to those around them to begin the conversation about their mental health.

 

They will achieve this by connecting with our community, implementing school based programs, sporting club programs, presenting to staff within corporate organisations and conducting broader awareness events. Furthermore, their apparel helps connect our community through recognition and acceptance.

 

A problem shared is a problem halved.
