TAMA'S RECOVERY FUND

Donation protected
• Over the Christmas break our Tama has hit a spot of bother. He was doing what the T-Dog does best, making the most of life and travelling by car from Alice Springs to Cairns and then to the Gold Coast. A well earnt break to check out some birds, bathe on the beach and most likely have a few snakies.
Prior to leaving the NT, he had a small cut on his right leg, he didn't think much of it. Had some antibiotics and went on his way. Tama's travel schedule was relentless, and he was driving 12 hour days over the period of a week. If you know Tama, he's the type to either go hard of go home. He definitely didn't want to be celebrating Christmas in the car. So, he pushed on.
Unfortunately, his cut became infected with a bug and spread rapidly from his calf to his upper thigh within 24hrs. This bug has attacked the flesh in his leg and the doctors have had to remove a vast amount of flesh and skin from his leg in the hope that he doesn’t lose his leg or the infection spreading to his back spine. Tama has been in an induced coma since the 18th of December 2015 whilst his body attempts to fight off this bug and avoid any more flesh being removed.
His Father is resigning from his job in New Zealand to be there for his son Tama during his recovery and providing him with the intensive support he will need. His recovery has been estimated to take 6-8 months or longer, recovery will be Tama's full time job. The character Tama embodies makes you wonder why such awful things happen to such great people. He has a huge heart, is an incredible friend, brother and son, and he has made such a positive impact in many people's lives.
This GoFundMe page has been set up to raise funds to support Tama, so he can focus on his recovery, ease his financial burden, ensure he receives the best rehabilitation possible and take some of the pressure off of his family during this difficult time.
We sincerely appreciate any and all help as we walk this journey together.
On behalf of Tama and his family we thank you for every prayer, for every Facebook post, every Facebook share, every text message, every voicemail, and every phone call he has received.
