Tamar's Transition fund
Hi, I’ve got something to get off my chest
I’m tamar, 20 yrs old and I’m Ftm trans and non binary and from a working class family, living in LDN and studying.
I’m trying to raise money for top surgery which would cost between £3,500 and £7,000 in the UK and with the Tavistock centre wait times for transgender care could take 3+years for my first appointment,
This is something that I can’t do on my own and something that I’ve wanted for a very long time and now that I’ve began my medical transition, my feminine-shaped body is glaringly obvious.
I would also use these funds to start getting consultations at a private trans clinic to assess that I’m on the right medication
and to have the security of professional advice as I have minor health complications that make transitioning harder.
I really wouldn’t ask for financial aid unless there was something urgent but top surgery is life and death and would mean that I can live and work without discrimination and feel free in the morning to dress how I want ,to move my body how I want (without body-checking) and to not feel trapped in the wrong body.
Ever since I can remember I have contorted, clawed at and tried to control my body with binders and layers and layers of clothing,
anything to hide the shape of my body but this summer I would like to be cool pls
I’ve been subjected- countless times to sexual harassment for the way I presented as a young person with big boobs and a butch haircut with an added layer of dysphoria.
My goal is to be able to gain the confidence to pursue a career as an art and play psychologist and to work with young GNC children as well as others to make sure that artists have a healthy way of expressing their trauma.
this would really help my mental health, my career, my safety and my health
Love,
Tamar
