Hello I'm Elly and a lot of you will know me and Tam. I rescued my cat Tamarind (formerly Samara) from Safe Haven Egypt back in November 2021. Last year I raised some money for Tamarind to have a look at her left ear as she had an ear infection that had returned.
When Tamarind flew out to the UK the haven had informed me that she had had an ear infection but that she was ok to fly. The ear infection came back when she arrived, she had medication for it but now it has got to the point where the bacterial strains are so resistant she needs a Total Ear Canal Ablation (TECA). She has a huge lump in her ear that is causing her head to tilt. This surgery doesn't come cheap. I have ManyPets insurance with pre existing conditions but this will only cover about £1500 if they don't find any loopholes.
If you have come this far thank you. A little history about Tam. She's around 3 years old and was being looked after by a Haven worker when one day the husband decided to throw Tam and her 3 kittens out onto the streets. One kitten sadly died, but Tam and the 2 others were rescued.
I have honestly been up thinking of how to fund her surgery, I don't want to put her to sleep as apart from the ear infection she's a perfectly happy cat. I feel like I've failed her as a catmom and I can't go through another heartbreak of loosing another cat in such a short space of time.
Please share, donate, anything you can do to help my little cat out.
From the bottom of our hearts thank you so so much.
Love Elly and Tam
As of 31.05.2023 my vets has quoted me around £5000 - £6000. My parents have taken her for a second opinion and they have quoted them £6000 minimum.
Tam has yet to go for surgery but I currently do not have the funds hence why I don't have a receipt if anyone requires proof of surgery, I will get it as soon as I have a surgery quote given to me by my vets.
