Help Tamara Walk Again – Urgent ACL & Meniscus Surgery Needed
Pleasant good day,
My name is Tamara Collington, and I am humbly reaching out for help during one of the most difficult times in my life.
I have been diagnosed with a torn ACL and a torn meniscus in my left knee, and since this injury, my life has changed drastically. Simple things like walking, standing, and even moving around have become painful and challenging. At times, I struggle just to get through the day.
In trying to get proper medical care, I first had to do an MRI, which cost JMD $60,000. After receiving the results, I was referred to begin physiotherapy before surgery.
I was informed that:
- Physiotherapy sessions cost JMD $8,000 per session (60–90 minutes)
- A follow-up assessment before surgery costs JMD $7,500
I am also currently on medication to manage the pain.
After further consultation, I received the cost for the surgery from my doctor’s office, which is approximately JMD $1,640,000.00. This amount covers the surgery only and does not include the additional physiotherapy required after surgery for full recovery.
The total cost of treatment is overwhelming for me, and despite my efforts, I am unable to afford it on my own.
Because of this, a trusted individual who resides in the United States has kindly stepped forward to organize this GoFundMe on my behalf, so that I can get the urgent surgery and care that I need.
I want to assure you that I have uploaded all supporting documents to verify my condition and expenses, including:
- MRI proof and cost
- Physiotherapy referral and pricing
- Official surgery estimate from my doctor
This surgery means everything to me—it is my chance to walk properly again, to live without constant pain, and to return to a normal and independent life.
I am asking, from my heart, for your help. Any contribution, no matter how small, will bring me one step closer to healing. If you are unable to donate, I kindly ask that you share my story.
I also appreciate your prayers during this time, as I hold on to faith and hope for a full recovery.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
With sincere gratitude,
Tamara Collington
