Please help us to continue caring for Otters and all our other animals during the Covid 19 pandemic.
The Tamar Otter & Wildlife Centre is a small family owned wildlife park in Cornwall with a deep commitment to raising awareness and conserving all wildlife, in particular otters. We have owned the zoo for fourteen years and during that time we have cared for the 200 mammals/birds including our 26 otters. We have also taken in wild British Otter Cubs and subsequently successfully returned them to the wild or given them a forever home if they cannot go back to the wild due to their injuries or health.
One of the Centre's goals is to help people of all ages reconnect with wildlife in a busy modern world.
Now is a very important time of year for us, as it usually allows us to re-open our gates and share our wildlife with you again. Providing opportunities for visitors to get up close with nature and also very importantly providing financial income to support the care of our beautiful animals after a long closed period.
Life has changed dramatically for each and every one of us since the onset of this pandemic; like our friends at other organisations we have been unable to re-open as usual and our dedicated staff have been furloughed since March. We had initially thought, hoped and believed that we would be able to get through this difficult time without asking for financial help, however, feeding and caring for our animals and birds is an ever-continuing challenge in these circumstances.
That is why we are reaching out to you for help so that we can ensure all of our animals continue to thrive in a happy healthy environment until this nightmare is over and we are allowed to open our gates and share the centre with you again.
