My name is Tamala Young, on October 29, 2024 (almost a year ago), I had my leg amputated. I got a prosthesis on New Year’s Eve, and everything went well. I found out a couple of months ago, I’ve apparently been more active that was expected, and I need a new one. Unfortunately insurance won’t pay for this one, and, of course, my social security does not allow me to afford it. I am asking for help that will allow me to be somewhat liberated and independent. Not totally, because I am also legally blind. I try not to allow my disabilities to handicap me, but without a leg, I would be handicapped.
