Talon Martial Arts expansion

It all began with a dedication to community and families, building stronger lives together through the martial arts. For almost 20 years Charles and Carrie through Talon Martial Arts have been dedicated to giving back to the community and the 380 corridor. Fortunately, we have been blessed with so many amazing families and students over the years that have made this journey amazing. Unfortunately, although we were able to survive Covid and able to keep our main location open, it has taken all we had set aside for the necessary opportunities and future growth needs.

Like all families and family-owned businesses, there are inevitable ups and downs over the years. As much as we had planned for the opportunity that has now come up within our current building to move to the larger space that we need; fighting to just stay open the last two years has left us unprepared now. The new space will allow us to expand not only our martial arts classes; but also, the after school and home school programs that have both been steadily growing coming out of Covid. The new space will allow us to offer multiple classes at the same time; and provide dedicated areas for the Home School and After School programs. The new space also has an option for an outdoor, enclosed covered playground for the home school and after school program use as well as a dedicated drop off and pick up point that is covered and not interfering with current classes. This will be a future addition, but the option is there for it.

The space that we have needed to move into has become available but it’s something we have to move on quickly or lose the opportunity. In order to make this move work and for us to handle the necessary buildout of the location we need to come up with $50,000.00 in the next 45 days. In the event that we don’t meet the target any funds generated would go to updates and needed changes to the current space to accommodate as best we can.

The great news is our business has grown by over 50% this year; but it’s still only been enough growth to keep us going and getting back to where we were before Covid. This space is a great and needed opportunity for us to continue to provide the community with a training facility for the whole family.

Our mission has always been to give back to the community and the growth and development of our current and future leaders through life skill training within the martial arts and more. We never thought we would be at a point to need the community more than it needs me but here we are.
